I’m just looking at the Coxmate HC as I need to replace my NK stroke coach.

My boat is wired for an NK speed coach, but I don’t have an impeller.
Will the Coxmate impeller work with the NK wires that are installed on the inside of the boat?
Yes the Coxmate Micro Impeller will work with the NK Loom as will the Coxmate HC.
You have to re-calibrate the unit – as you would with any new installation.
We can loan you a GPS calibration device to get started as that makes it quicker than finding a buoyed, measured course to do it on.

There is, however, a subtlety if you have an NK impeller and want to use it with Coxmate. The Coxmate impeller produces a stronger signal than the NK, and the Coxmate display has a slightly less sensitive impeller input than NK’s. Thus dropping the Coxmate display into a boat with an NK impeller may work straight off (the Coxmate has a calibration setting for the NK impeller) or it may require you to tweak the placement of the impeller relative to the pick-up.
All other aspects (such as the seat pick-up) are perfectly compatible. And this is not an issue if using the Coxmate impeller.

I should add that the coxmate impeller is smaller than NK and so you’ll need to recalibrate (because it spins faster you get different readings – always nice to think you’re going faster!)
