  • Radio interview with John Yeatman of Marlow Rowing Club “all you wanted to know about rowing events but were afraid to ask” thanks to Dave Hampton,  CarbonCoach  and Green Party prospective MP for Marlow for the link.
  • Iowa University rowing coach, Mandi Kowal forced to resign over lawsuit because she ‘pushed her team during workouts’.
  • Terry Hunter Coach for Eton College Rowing Centre videoed doing an after dinner speech – at Dorney Lake and part 2 here.  He covers the history of the development of the Lake.  Terry is father to GB LM2x athlete, Mark Hunter. Quotes:

The last 3 Olympics have been spoiled by weed on the lake.  That won’t happen when they have the races here.

I told my son he won’t be let back in the house unless he wins a medal – well I probably will!

The public will come onto the site from a new bridge via Windsor Race course.  The temporary bridge is strong enough to take the weight of 27,000 people every hour and a quarter.

Hopefully we’ll win a bucketful of medals and we can all get merry and drunk and have a bit of fun.

Question from the audience: “Will Sir Michael Redgrave be here at all?”
