Every Rower deserves a trophy: one that
- Recognises persistence
- Rewards effort, and is a
- Reminder of friendships formed.
For the last four years, Gr8 Oars has been manufacturing replica miniature oars, trophies and gifts for rowers. A retired rowing coach turned woodturner, (pun intended) Jack McGee turns each oar on his wood lathe and prepares the plaques and stands in his workshop. Read on to see the special offer Jack has made to Rowperfect readers….
Setting up a display stand at Queensland, Australia, regattas, Gr8 Oars proved popular with rowers, parents and parent support groups. Schools organised engraved stands and oars, often for the Yr 13 students whose school rowing had come to an end.
Presentation plaques have been appreciated when received by retiring coaches, or as a ‘thank you coach’ gift from an appreciative crew.
Keychains, in the shape of cleaver blades, say quietly, “I Row”. These are personalised with crew details and are perfect on school sports bags where all are the same.
The keychains were an affordable way to give every member of the rowing club an end of season gift. The photo shows two schools each giving over one hundred rowers, coxswains and coaches personalised keychains.
These products can be purchased at the GR8 Oars shop on Etsy and Jack can be contacted at gr8oars@gmail.com.
