What is Tour Rowing?
Love to row? Love to travel? Why not combine the best of both? Tour Rowing is offered by many organisations planning your rowing vacations. They are intrigued by their rowing trips, which offer sculling and sweeping in spectacular locations – Germany, Ireland, England, Norway, Italy,Switzerland, California, Quebec and many other countries.
So what’s it all about?
All organisations offer a full package style of travel where rowing is one of many experiences. Some trips are point-to-point down a river – the classic rowing tour. We were interested to see that on other trips you row with different clubs in a diversity of locations, enjoying varied equipment and views. In addition to the trips you might find these organisations offers private tours for clubs or alumni groups. They define their destinations and their budget.

And when you’re not on the water?
Although the rowing is the raison d’être, depending on where you are travelling, you might also enjoy wine tasting, hiking, cycling, villa and museum visits, or maybe a cooking class. While the groups are small, you are welcome to bring your non-rowing partner – there is a full program for him or her while you are rowing.
Who to contact..
We recently spoken with the two biggest Rowing Agencies, with Volker Fritz, Owner of Rowing in Europe in his Jacksonville locatian and Ruth Marr, President of Rowing The World. Both organisations offer tours worldwide and both have many years of rowing experience and would be happy to answer your questions directly. Sounds like fun! Contact them directly at volker@rowing-in-europe.com or ruth@rowingtheworld.com. Volker has his own fleet.

As much as I love rowing, I’m not sure I’d want to spend an entire holiday rowing… You’d have to be pretty serious about rowing to do that!
Samuel – rowing holidays are relaxing – they include drinking and eating and the rowing pace is s-l-o-w!
Well, it’s always good to be somewhere new. I love it because I have a weakness on this tour. I have just visited Vienna & Bratislava. I really enjoy from my trip, particularly in Vienna, mostly because of the excellent and wonderful guiding of Row Tours, who offer the adventure and excitement that you crave, with an exciting range of rowing tours and rowing camps in interesting locations.
Hello, I row coastal sculls and have had about 10hrs of lessons in a fine river boat. I am looking for a rowing holiday at Easter time. As I am a Teacher. Do you have anything available? Many thanks, Sarah
