Today we’re sharing one of my favourite coaching websites with you. Called the Association of Rowing Coaches of South Africa or ARCSA for short, this site is a collection of sports science articles which are useful for rowing.
Set up by an initially anonymous and recently revealed profile, Jamie Croley is a high school rowing coach and a passionate researcher into online resources for coaches.
This blog contains articles of interest to rowing coaches worldwide and includes topics such as rowing technique, exercise physiology, training methodology, sport psychology, strength training, endurance training, drills, sports medicine, anatomy, nutrition, training planning, biomechanics, overtraining and recovery, periodization and many others.
It’s been years in the making and has been publishing online since 2007. The archive is well worth browsing – take a look at all the ‘stroke sequence‘ articles. There are photographic thumbnails of top athletes, Drew Ginn features several times. This is a resource worth browsing and bookmarking.

We count this as the place to go for sports science articles helping rowing coaches. Recommend you sign up to get his updates by email off the top of the website.
