We got a question from a reader
“What are the words of inspiration you would give to a rower who is lacking enthusiasm?”
My answer is this
- Why are you rowing. What’s your goal? Write this down. Make it clear and very specific.
- What are the steps that will take you towards your goal. Make these very small steps that can be achieved and measured as progress within 4 – 6 weeks.
- Every time you lack motivation – look at your next goal and the next step to take you there. Say to yourself, Will doing this training session help me towards my goal? Can I adapt the training session to make sure it adds to my goal?
And read these 8 motivational quotes from Olympic Gold medalist Brad Alan Lewis
You may find it helpful to keep a daily diary of your training and progress towards your goals.
