www.therowingnetwork.org is a new rowing website created by Rowing Australia (RA) and the Institute for Rowing Leadership (IRL) at Community Rowing Inc. (CRI) today announced the launch of an inclusive online international coaching education resource, The Rowing Network (TRN). This new website, accessible for all coaches internationally, provides meaningful connection to expertise from across the rowing landscape.
Better Coaching = Happier, and Faster Rowers
The simple mantra of the TRN, better coaching equals happier and faster rowers, reflects the shared international vision for expanding the sport of rowing. The initial TRN pilot phase will run with a select number of courses to the end of 2017, the first being a level one Rowing Australia coaching accreditation course. More courses will be released, with timing to be advised.
RA and the IRL have partnered together with world-renowned leader in online educational courses, the University of Queensland based in Brisbane Australia, to deliver this first of its kind rowing specific online coursework.
Rowing Australia CEO, Michael Scott commented: “We are delighted to be partnering with the Institute of Rowing Leadership to help grow rowing internationally by providing coaching education resources to anyone, anywhere, at any time.
“TRN will allow coaches to access coaching education resources from their desktop or tablet device at any time. We are very pleased with the positive feedback we have received on our first online coaching course that we launched last year. We wish to encourage more online learning and are thrilled to be able to share coaching skills and development online to an international audience.”
CRI CEO, Bruce Smith added:
“With the shared goal of advancing the sport at all levels, both founding organizations firmly believe excellence in coaching is fundamental to the growth of rowing internationally. TRN will equip coaches with an ability to be better at their job without having to leave their desktop. With the Rowing Australia Level One Coaching Course already live, we are excited to launch more courses later this year to share the ‘best of’ knowledge online with coaches working at all levels of rowing wherever they may be.”
