width=Everyone knows the veteran  masters rower’s adage

The older we are the better we were!

We have got a great new book called “Racing Yesterday” written about Andy Baxter and Olympic legend, Stephen Kiesling’s attempt to get selected for the US Rowing team.

Having represented his country last in 1984, Kiesling and Baxter decide to train for the US selection trials for the sweep pair crew before the Beijing Olympic Regatta.

What happens when a 42 and 49 year old take their training seriously?  How did they make a pair go fast enough not to be disgraced in a very public race?

Could you do it?

Buy Racing Yesterday the e-book in our online store.

Watch a video narrated by Keisling about the trial and the video of their race

Bonus – watch a longer 8 minute video of one of their preparatory races against university students.
