Space Saver are leaders in rowing boat racking. Their sliding arm boat rack is a simple design which slides from 1,500 mm long out 2,100 mm. The boat then slides out towards the athletes ensuring the riggers are clear of the hulls racked above and below so there’s less chance of accidental damage.
The boat is also protected with an anti-wear plastic strip attached to the top of the sliding arm. The boat gunwale rests on this strip when stored. By sliding it on its gunwale over the anti-wearing plastic strip to the very end of the arm before it is lifted off the rack, gives minimal wear and maximum protection from holing by rigger bolts.
The designer, Douglas Lumsden explains
“I leave that as the standard size for all boats so riggers don’t clash during removalstorage. The arm can be fixed anywhere using anchor bolts or u-bolts to attach to the upright posts in your boathouse or boatshed.”
