Australian Rowing Championships 2011The countdown to the 2011 Australian Rowing Championships is over and is set to commence on 7th March till 13th March. The event is held at the recently upgraded 2000-metre long course in West Lakes, Adelaide, the only metropolitan rowing venue capable of achieving international authorization.

The event will be attracting over 25,000 spectators including representatives from the Australian Institute of Sport, Clubs, States, Universities and Schools. More importantly, the event would serve as a big platform for the London 2012 Olympics. Henceforth, the 1,649 participants are are all geared up and are prepared to be closely scrutinized by the Australian Rowing selectors to represent the sport in the next Olympics.

The key highlight of the event would be the dual for the Queens and Kings Cups battle between the womens and mens “State Eight” previously dominated by New South Wales.

The Championship Spokespersons, Mr. Phil Mangelsdorf is expecting significant interest in the event from dedicated rowers nationally to represent Australia and put their absolute all into this opportunity.
