You may have recently heard the sad news that Andy Ripley OBE and former British and Irish Lion, England Rugby international, BBC Superstars champion, Boat Race trialist at the age of 50, indoor rowing champion and Tideway Scullers School President died at the age of 62 last week after a long battle with prostate cancer.

Since first learning of his condition in 2005 Andy has campaigned tirelessly on behalf of the Prostate Cancer charity to raise money and awareness about this illness.

To show the high regard in which Andy was held by TSS and the rowing community in general we have had 500 t-shirts produced that will be sold for a suggested donation of £7.50 per shirt.

TSS will not receive any proceeds – this is entirely about the Prostate Cancer charity and showing support for Andy Ripley.

Rowperfect wants to support this at Henley Royal Regatta to raise awareness among those attending HRR of the cause and reason for it being supported.

The t-shirts are distinctively coloured so the cause being supported will be immediately recognisable and provide a visible presence at HRR.

The t-shirts will be as follows:

• yellow t-shirt
• On the back it has the words (which are taken from Andy Ripley’s book)
  Dare we hope? We dare.
  Can we hope? We can.
  Should we hope? We must.
• Andy Ripley OBE
• across the front it has the charity’s logo.

If you would like to purchase a t-shirt then please visit the Crew Room’s stand at HRR where they will be available for the suggested donation of £7.50. Crew Room have kindly agreed to distribute them at no cost.
